With ten of the 12 songs being called potential standards by Loggins Promotions, the Los Angeles record promoter of artists including Mariah Carey, Boyz II Men and Kenny Loggins, Marty Ward and his second adult contemporary release, "Miracles in Paradise," are quickly gaining the attention that twenty years of effort has foretold.
While those that know Ward's virtuosity call him a "musical triple play" performer - sax aficionado, composer and vocalist - the reality is much more than that. He is a man of many moods and colors, a songwriter that brings sensitivity to each carefully orchestrated note and a musician of prestigious talent.
Ward created the 12 tracks on "Miracles in Paradise" with thoughtful lyrics from his heart, music from his soul and a voice found within his spirit that takes the listener along a musically guided inspirational journey.
"To me, music is all about inspiration," Ward said. "It should connect listeners to their own hearts and souls. Each song on this CD has a special meaning to me because it has been part of my journey in life."
The culmination of half a life's experience inspired Ward to find "Miracles in Paradise." The songs, written mostly by Ward, carry a blend of adult contemporary and pop and feature his sax and vocals.
Listeners will find something familiar with a remastered version of "That's What Living Is" from his debut EP and something new with "Listen Closely," "Good Times Bad Times," "Fortune Within," and the calypso-influenced ballad, "Paradise."
Ward borrowed and re-stylized Sarah McLachlan's "Angel," Van Morrison's "Someone Like You" and the Cars' "Drive." The CD finishes with a tearful holiday song, "What Will Christmas Be Without You."
"Miracles in Paradise" was produced and recorded in Los Angeles by Alan Hewitt (Jonathan Butler, Earth Wind & Fire) and Mastered at Capitol Studios in Hollywood.
